Knights at a city festival
At a city festival the audience has not been invited — it simply walks past and stops. So the fight has to be understandable without explanation: the tournament is led and commentated by a herald who names the weapons, the contests and what has just happened in the arena. A passer-by who arrives mid-programme knows what they are looking at within half a minute.
For the scale of a square we choose formats that read from the back of the crowd: demonstration duels with different weapons, a buhurt, or a mounted tournament in a fenced arena. After the performance there is usually an interactive part — guests can pick up a sword, try on a helmet and see for themselves that the steel is real.
How does a knight programme fit into a city festival schedule?
Usually it works as the spine of the daytime programme: the tournament runs in daylight, when the square is at its fullest, and leaves the evening finale to a fire performance. From the organiser we need a time slot, the area of the square and a contact with whom to agree access and the safety perimeter.
What does the square need for the fight to be safe?
Level, firm, non-slip ground — grass, sand or paving all work — and a safe distance to the audience. We assess the site in advance and choose the format from it; for the mounted programme we fence the arena separately.
A knight tournament at a company event
A company event runs on a schedule, so a knight programme works here as a clearly bounded chapter of the evening: it starts and ends at the agreed time, and the herald-led structure lets the audience follow along even while conversation continues at the tables. We fit the format to the event coordinator's plan, not to our habits.
An indoor space is no obstacle to knight fights: what is needed is level, non-slip flooring and a safe distance — we bring everything else ourselves. The strongest part is usually what follows the show: once colleagues have felt the weight of a sword and tried on a helmet, the conversation about it lasts the rest of the evening.
Do knight fights fit inside a hotel ballroom?
Usually yes. The floor surface, the ceiling height and the distance to the tables decide it, not square metres — we assess the space in advance and pick the format from it: demonstration duels work better indoors, wider contests and horsemen outdoors.
Can guests try the weapons themselves?
Yes, and it is usually remembered better than the fight itself. An interactive part follows the performance: the fighters hand over the weapons, explain how they work and let guests try on pieces of armour — all supervised by our team.
Knights at a wedding
At a wedding, knights usually appear not as a spectacle but as the welcome: an honour guard at the gate, a ceremonial escort to the venue, or the gate raised for the couple. The celebration begins before the guests have crossed the threshold, and the first photographs happen by themselves.
On guard duty the knights do not stand like statues — they speak with arriving guests, stay in character and, by arrangement, can check invitations or set a password challenge. For a different style we offer 17th-century noblemen's costumes, and for the evening a short duel as a separate accent.
When does the knight guard meet guests at a wedding?
As the guests arrive — at the gate or at the entrance to the venue. The guard can also escort the group to the tables or raise the gate for the couple; we agree the exact scenario with your host so it does not collide with the ceremony.
Does a knight programme suit a country house?
Yes — a country-house courtyard is our most common wedding setting. All it needs is level, non-slip ground and room for guests to stand at a safe distance. Send us the address or a photo of the venue and we will say which format will look best there.

Knight program prices start from €415. The final price depends on the format, the number of fighters and the venue – leave a request and within one business day we will send an offer with an exact price.
Are the knight fights real or staged?
The strikes are real, and the weapons and armor are reconstructions of authentic finds – the sparks and the denting steel are not an effect. The fight is built as choreography and rehearsed, which keeps it safe for the fighters while it looks real to the audience, because it is.
What is the difference between knight fights, noblemen's fights and horseman shows?
Knight fights are duels and tournaments fought in heavy armor; noblemen's fights are lighter and more theatrical, built around fencing and intrigue; horseman shows need more room but make the strongest impression at an outdoor event. If the choice is hard, we make it for you based on your space and the program of your event.
What kind of ground does a knight show need?
It needs a level, firm surface that is not slippery – grass, sand, paving or a hall floor all work. We assess the venue in advance and choose the fight format and the safe distances to the audience accordingly, so the show adapts to a courtyard as readily as to a square.
